Why We're Qruising
Chicago's quantum community, all in one place.
Chicago's quantum sector is growing quickly, from university labs to startups to the companies scaling quantum hardware and software. They are building the same future from very different places, and they rarely end up in the same room. Quantum Qruise is one evening a year that puts them there.
Looking Back
Last Year on the River
Last year's inaugural sailing brought this community together for the first time, and guests left with connections they had been trying to make for years. This year we return to the same boat and the same route.

Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I get there?
Please arrive by 6:00 PM. We cast off at 6:30 and the boat cannot wait, so allow time for parking and the walk down to the Riverwalk.
Where do we board?
We board the Leading Lady at 112 E. Wacker Dr, on the Chicago Riverwalk. Take the stairs down to the Riverwalk at the northeast corner of Michigan and Wacker. Discounted parking is available across the street at 111 E. Wacker Dr, and we will have someone at the dock to point you the right way.
What time does the boat get back?
We return to the dock by 8:30 PM. Please plan to be off the boat by 8:45.
Who's this event for?
Quantum Qruise brings together, for one relaxed night on the water:
- Quantum startup founders and operators
- Engineers building quantum hardware and software
- Professors, post-docs, and researchers
- Illinois economic development leaders
- Investors
- The Quantum Qurious
What's included with my RSVP?
Toasts and passed appetizers throughout the evening, and music for the full two hours. Everything is covered, so there is nothing to purchase on board.
Can I bring a guest?
Each RSVP is for one person. The boat has a hard capacity we cannot exceed, so we are not able to accommodate plus-ones. If there is someone who belongs on board, send their name to brian.pearson@quantumqruise.com and we will invite them directly if a seat is open.
Is there a program?
The evening is unstructured. Expect open conversation, a brief welcome toast, and a thank-you to our sponsors.
What should I wear?
Nautical or summer business casual. Flat shoes are recommended on deck, and a light jacket is worth bringing once the sun is down.
What happens if the weather's bad?
We sail rain or shine. The vessel has an indoor salon with room for every guest if the weather turns. If severe weather forces a change, we will email everyone who has registered.
I can't make it anymore. What do I do?
Please let us know at brian.pearson@quantumqruise.com and we will offer your place to someone else.
